The Research and Innovation Team supports the delivery of high-quality research across St George’s. The team works closely with researchers, clinical teams, sponsors, partners and support services to help studies move from initial idea through to approval, set-up, delivery and completion.

The team provides expert guidance on the processes needed to run research safely and effectively within the NHS. This includes support with study governance, sponsorship, contracts, costing, approvals, performance oversight and regulatory requirements.

For the NIHR St George’s Clinical Research Facility, the Research and Innovation Team is an important partner. They help ensure that studies delivered through the CRF meet the required ethical, legal and governance standards, while supporting researchers and sponsors to navigate the research pathway efficiently.

Working together, the CRF and Research and Innovation Team help create a strong research environment at St George’s — one that supports innovation, protects participants and enables research to improve care for patients now and in the future.
